Texas Mother Confesses to Stabbing Her Two Children to Death: Community in Shock and Mourning

A Texas mother has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of her two children at an apartment in Italy, a small town south of Dallas. According to the authorities, 30-year-old Madison McDonald called 911 on Monday evening to report that her children, 1-year-old Lillian Mae McDonald and 6-year-old Archer Hammond, had been killed by their father, who is currently serving time in prison.

When the police arrived at the apartment, they found the children dead from multiple stab wounds. During the investigation, McDonald reportedly confessed to stabbing her children to death herself. She was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder.

The motive for the killings is not yet clear, and the investigation is ongoing. The authorities say that McDonald and the children's father had a history of domestic violence, and he is currently serving a sentence for assaulting McDonald and a previous child.

The community of Italy, which has a population of around 2,000 people, has been shaken by the tragic incident. A candlelight vigil was held on Tuesday evening to honor the children's memory, and a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help cover their funeral expenses.

McDonald is being held at the Ellis County Jail on a $2 million bond. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.
