Georgia Football Star Jalen Carter Charged with Racing in Fatal Crash

 


Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been charged with racing in a fatal car accident that occurred in Georgia on February 20, 2023. The incident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man. Carter was reportedly racing another car when he collided with the victim's vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.


Carter, who is considered one of the top defensive linemen in college football, turned himself in to authorities on March 1st, 2023, and was released on a $30,000 bond. The university released a statement expressing their condolences to the victim's family and acknowledging the seriousness of the charges against Carter.


The 20-year-old sophomore played in all 13 games for the Bulldogs last season, recording 42 tackles, including 3.5 sacks. The university has not yet announced whether he will be suspended from the team as a result of the charges
